Mobile Truck Electrical Repair, Batteries & Charging

No-crank no-starts, charging problems, corroded wiring, lighting and ABS faults — traced and repaired on site.

Electrical faults are the classic mobile repair: the truck won't crank in the yard at 5 a.m., the batteries died in the ferry lineup, the trailer lights quit before a night run, or an ABS lamp won't clear. Almost none of that needs a shop — it needs a mechanic with a meter, stock, and the patience to trace wire. That's us, anywhere south of Duncan, around the clock.

Island conditions are hard on trucks: salt air, wet winters and long idle periods corrode grounds, terminals and connectors faster than the manuals expect. We carry batteries, terminals, cable, relays, fuses, lighting and connector stock on the truck, so the most common electrical calls are one-visit fixes at $130/hour with parts at cost.

What we handle on-site

  • No-crank and slow-crank diagnosis — batteries, starters, cables, grounds
  • Battery testing and on-site replacement (correct CCA, properly torqued)
  • Alternator and charging system diagnosis and replacement
  • Wiring repairs — chafed, corroded, melted or rodent-damaged harnesses
  • Trailer light, ABS and 7-way connector faults
  • Lighting repairs — headlights, markers, work lights, beacons
  • Parasitic draw hunting for trucks that die overnight
  • Liftgate, inverter and auxiliary power problems

Found, fixed, and proven

Electrical work earns its reputation from guesswork — parts thrown at symptoms until something sticks. We work the other way: measure, isolate, then repair, and show you the numbers before and after. A charging system that leaves our hands is load-tested; a repaired circuit is exercised, not assumed. If a fault is intermittent, we'll set you up to catch it in the act rather than selling you parts on spec.

Fleet trucks that sit between shifts are prime candidates for dead-battery mornings. A PM program that load-tests batteries and inspects charging twice a year kills those 5 a.m. surprises almost entirely.

Electrical & Batteries — FAQs

My truck won’t start — do I need a boost or a mechanic?

If it cranks strongly and won't fire, boosting won't help — that's fuel, air or electronic, and it needs diagnosis. If it clicks or cranks slowly, it may be batteries or connections, but repeated boosting hides the real fault. Text 250-974-7899 with what it does when you turn the key; we'll come with the meter, the boost pack and the likely parts.

Can you replace truck batteries on site?

Yes — testing and replacement at your truck is routine, including group 31 sets for highway tractors. You pay the supplier's counter price for the batteries (receipt included) plus time. We torque connections properly and check the charging system so the new set doesn't die the same death as the old one.

My trailer ABS light is on. Is that out-of-service?

An illuminated trailer ABS lamp is a defect that needs attention, and inspectors do look for it. It's usually a sensor gap, a corroded connector, or wiring at the 7-way. It's exactly the kind of fault we fix at your yard — quick to schedule by text, and much cheaper than dealing with it at a scale.

Do you fix wiring damage from rodents or chafing?

Constantly. We repair harnesses properly — sealed connections, correct gauge, loomed and secured — not twist-and-tape. If damage is extensive we'll show you photos and give you the honest choice between sectional repair and harness replacement, with parts at cost either way.
