Mobile Semi Trailer Repair — Brakes, Lights, Airlines & Gear
Trailer brakes, ABS and lighting faults, airlines, landing gear and door hardware — fixed at the yard or dockside.
Trailers get the least attention in most operations and cause an outsized share of the problems: lights that fail the night before a run, brakes out of adjustment at the scale, a landing gear crank that finally strips at the worst dock on the island. Ronin Mechanical repairs trailers where they're parked — your yard, a customer's dock, or the roadside — everywhere south of Duncan.
We service dry vans, flatdecks, dumps, lowbeds and utility trailers: air systems and foundation brakes, ABS faults, wiring and lighting, suspensions, landing gear, kingpins and door hardware. Trailer work pairs naturally with tractor PM — one visit, whole combination inspected and fixed.
What we handle on-site
- Trailer air brake repairs — chambers, valves, adjusters, airlines
- ABS fault diagnosis, sensors and wiring
- Lighting and wiring repairs — LEDs, harnesses, 7-way connectors
- Landing gear repair and replacement
- Trailer suspension — air bags, springs, bushings, torque arms
- Wheel seals, bearings and hub service
- Door hardware, hinges and roll-up door repairs
- Kingpin and upper coupler inspection
Keep the whole combination legal
BC's inspection program covers commercial trailers too, and trailer defects — lights, brake adjustment, oil-soaked linings — are among the most common reasons combinations get flagged at scales. A trailer that sits between uses corrodes quietly: wiring, air fittings and brake components age even when the odometer doesn't move. We fix what's failed and flag what's failing, in writing, so nothing at the scale surprises you.
Fleets with mixed trailer pools: ask about adding trailers to a scheduled maintenance rotation — it's the difference between finding a dead ABS sensor in your yard versus at a roadside inspection with a load on.

Trailer Repair — FAQs
My trailer lights are out and I run tonight. Can you come?
That's a classic evening call and usually very fixable — most trailer lighting faults are the 7-way, a ground, or a harness section, all repairable on site. Text 250-974-7899 with the trailer's location and what's dead (all lights? one side? markers?), and we'll get you legal before your window.
Do you repair trailer ABS faults?
Yes — sensor gaps, damaged sensor wiring, corroded connectors and power supply problems at the 7-way are the usual suspects, and all of them are yard-fixable. We diagnose with proper tooling rather than parts-cannoning, and the ABS lamp is proven out before we leave.
Can you fix landing gear on a loaded trailer?
Often yes, with appropriate support — stripped cranks, seized legs and failed gearboxes are common calls. If the trailer is loaded and the gear has structurally failed, safety comes first: we'll assess on site and be straight with you about what's workable and what needs the load moved.
We have trailers parked all over the South Island. Do you travel between them?
Yes — multi-stop service runs are normal for us. Send the list by text and we'll sequence the stops sensibly; you're billed for time, and the travel-time tool gives you a feel for the driving legs between yards.
