Mobile Fleet Maintenance & Scheduled PM Programs

Scheduled PM at your yard for fleets and owner-operators — oil services, brakes, inspection prep and a paper trail that protects you.

Every roadside emergency used to be a maintenance item. That's the whole pitch: Ronin Mechanical runs scheduled preventive maintenance at your yard — evenings and weekends included — so your trucks earn instead of waiting in a shop queue. We serve everyone from single-truck owner-operators to mixed fleets across the South Island, booked and managed entirely by text.

A PM program with us is simple: we build a service schedule around your units (by kilometres, hours or calendar), show up when trucks are parked anyway, and keep the records. Oil and filter services, chassis lube, brake inspections and adjustments, air system checks, batteries and charging, tires and lights, driveline wear — caught at the yard, on your invoice at supplier cost, at $130/hour for time actually worked.

What we handle on-site

  • A/B/C-style PM services matched to your units and duty cycle
  • Oil, filter and fluid services at your yard — evenings and weekends welcome
  • Brake inspections, adjustments and air system checks
  • Battery load-testing and charging system checks before winter
  • Steering, suspension and driveline wear monitoring
  • Trailer rotations — lights, brakes, seals, landing gear
  • CVSE inspection prep: find and fix would-be defects before your inspection date
  • Service records kept and shared — protect resale value and your safety rating

Inspection prep, minus the panic

BC requires commercial vehicle inspections on a fixed cadence — semi-annual for tractors and trucks licensed over 17,300 kg (and logging trucks over 8,200 kg), annual for many medium-duty trucks and trailers — performed at designated inspection facilities. We're not an inspection station; we're the reason you pass. Pre-inspection visits catch the lights, brake adjustments, seals and air leaks that fail vehicles, so your truck goes in once and comes out stickered.

Owner-operators are fleets of one

You don't need ten trucks to get the program. One truck on a real PM schedule — booked by text around your loads, serviced in your driveway or yard — is how owner-operators avoid the breakdown that eats a week's revenue. Text 250-974-7899 with your truck and typical kilometres, and we'll suggest a sensible starting schedule the same day.

Fleet & Preventive Maintenance — FAQs

What does a PM service include?

Scaled to your operation, but a typical B-style service covers oil and filters, chassis lube, full-vehicle inspection — brakes and adjustment, air system leak-down, steering and suspension, driveline, tires, lights, batteries and charging — plus a written report of what's wearing. You approve any repair work by text before it happens.

Can you service our trucks at night or on weekends so we don’t lose uptime?

That's the core of the offer. Mobile PM exists so maintenance happens while trucks are parked anyway — evenings, weekends, between shifts at your yard. Emergency call-outs run 24/7; scheduled work books into whatever window your operation actually has.

How does this work for CVSE inspections?

Inspections themselves must happen at a designated inspection facility — that part we don't do. What we do is make sure you pass: a pre-inspection visit at your yard finds and fixes the brake adjustments, lights, seals and air leaks that cause failures and re-inspections. For most heavy tractors that's twice a year; we track your due dates with you.

Do fleets get a different rate?

The rate stays $130/hour and parts stay at cost for everyone — no games. What fleets get is priority scheduling, a maintained service history for every unit, one text thread for the whole yard, and fewer emergencies over time, which is where the real money is.

We run trucks, trailers and equipment. Can one program cover all of it?

Yes — that mix is normal here: tractors and dumps by kilometres, trailers by calendar, machines by hours. One rotation, one contact, one paper trail across the whole yard, from highway tractors to the skid steer.
